Arrowroot flour is derived from the root of a West Indian plant. It can be used in exchanged recipes or mixes cup for cup with corn starch, so it makes a great substitute if you are allergic to corn. Arrowroot flour is an excellent thickening agent in sauces and lightens up gluten free or Paleo-friendly baked goods.
Directions for use as Thickening Agent: Cool the liquid you would like to thicken. Then mix in a tablespoon or so of the Authentic Foods Arrowroot Flour. Heat the mixture until it thickens.
